Abstract. Тhe article analyzes the socio-cultural basis of the concepts of «hybrid war», «network-centric war», and «multidimensional war», which allows us to better understand their nature. It is concluded that these are the fruits of an intercultural synthesis of the norms of Judeo-Christian and Eastern cultures (mainly Chinese culture). It is noted that the trend of modern anti-Russian journalism, which consists in the fact that they want to accuse Russia of creating a new way of waging war: «hybrid war», is another falsification of history, and a gross falsification and substitution of reality.
