Abstract. The article explores the theoretical aspects of the activities of troops in the implementation of the protective function of law in the conditions of a special military operation. The author’s analysis of the specific features of the tasks assigned to the National Guard troops in this area is considered in relation to the content of each of the main elements of the mechanism for implementing the protective function of law. The author pays special attention to analyzing the main features of the interaction between troops and other participants in a special military operation during the execution of their combat missions.
