Abstract. Modern military education aims to train highly qualified specialists with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively perform their duties in a modern society and an ever-changing operational environment. This article examines the requirements imposed by the military education system on the level of competence of officers of the National Guard troops of the Russian Federation, defines the main directions for improving the educational process and offers recommendations for improving the level of training of military personnel.
