Abstract. The article reviews and analyzes the antagonism of the most pronounced polemical views on the problem of establishing the truth in criminal proceedings. As a conclusion, the conclusion is formulated about the insufficiency of their separate consideration in the context of the modern development of the criminal procedure model.
