Abstract. The article presents an analysis of various approaches of modern scientists to pedagogical modeling. For many years, modeling has remained one of the leading methods of scientific knowledge and is widely used in pedagogical research. The authors of the article reveal the principles of pedagogical modeling and provide a theoretical justification for the chosen method for studying the process of educating patriotic values among cadets of military institutes.
