Abstract. The prevailing dynamics of the cadets’ motivation level in the process of weapons training in the Saratov Military Order of Zhukov Red Banner Institute of the National Guard of the Russian Federation is presented. As a result of the pedagogical research, the author identified the phenomenon of learners’ motivation decreasing while increasing the firing skills of senior-years cadets. The most likely reasons for the phenomenon are revealed. The recommendations for increasing cadets’ interest in studying the discipline and improving practical skills of weapons usage are proposed.
