Abstract. The proposed article analyzes the main views of the leading military teachers of the past, taking into account modern educational realities. The study of military pedagogical traditions is carried out in the relationship of the achievements of the authors of military pedagogical thought of the past with the modern problems of military pedagogy. The authors of the article focus on the expediency of the current application of the provisions put forward by them, the most important, in the opinion of the authors, options for their further use in the pedagogical practice of military educational institutions of the national guard of the Russian Federation are proposed.
