Abstract. The article describes the features of the competence-based approach as a new paradigm
of modern education. The ways of improving the quality of professional training of future officers of
the Russian National Guard troops on the basis of a competence-based approach are considered. The aim
is to determine the component of the competence of the professional competence of future officers in the
use of health-strengthening technologies. Competence is defined as an objective category that fixes a
socially recognized complex of a certain level of knowledge, skills, attitudes, thanks to which a
specialist is able to perform his functions.
