8. The list of references (sources) shall be compiled in accordance with the requirements of GOST R 7.0.5-2008 “Bibliographic reference. General requirements and rules of compilation.” The reference list shall include only records for resources that are mentioned or cited in the main text of the article. Citations to sources in the text are formatted in square brackets. Reference sources are numbered and arranged in the order in which they are cited in the text of the article.
9. The article must be formatted in accordance with the basic requirements for typographic design, performed primarily by means of automation and pre-configured styles in accordance with GOST R 7.0.110-2025 “Author’s and publisher’s text originals. Requirements for typographic design.”
- When typing the article, the Word text editor and the Times New Roman font are used (font size – 14 pt, line spacing – single, paragraph indent – 1.25 cm). The use of unnecessary line, page, or section breaks not defined by the document structure is not permitted.
- Pages are numbered at the top of the page with Arabic numerals, center-aligned; the distance from the edge of the sheet to the number is 10 mm; the first page is not numbered.
- The heading is typed in bold. The font size of the article title is 16 pt. The heading begins with a capital letter; the entire heading is not typed in capital letters. For visual separation of the heading from the text following it, the spacing between the heading and the text following it must be at least single spacing. The spacing is set in the style parameters. Creating spacing around headings by adding blank lines is not permitted.
- The text is printed across the full width of an A4 page (not divided into columns) and justified. Page margins: left – 30 mm, right, top, and bottom – 20 mm.
- The use of two or more consecutive spaces in the text is not permitted. Spaces are also not placed:
- at the beginning or end of a paragraph;
- after opening parentheses or quotation marks;
- before closing parentheses or quotation marks;
- before punctuation marks (period, comma, semicolon, colon, exclamation mark, and question mark).
- Quotation marks and parentheses are not separated by spaces from the words and values enclosed within them.
- Underlining of material in the text is undesirable. Highlighting by letter-spacing (spacing out), strikethrough, capital letters, and small caps is not permitted. Whenever possible, a single method of emphasis should be used. The use of two or more methods of emphasis must be justified.
- Manual hyphenation marks and extra spaces are not permitted.
- In Russian-language text, guillements (« ») are used; in texts in foreign languages, double quotation marks (” “) are used, as well as in mathematical and physical formulas.
- Punctuation and graphic distinction must be observed between “–” (en dash: “Ctrl” + “Alt” + “minus” on the right numeric keypad) and “-” (hyphen).
- Designations of units of measurement of various quantities and abbreviations such as “yr.” (year) must be preceded by a non-breaking space (“Shift” + “Ctrl” + “Space”), which prevents them from being separated from the number or word they define during typesetting. The same applies to initials and surnames. A non-breaking space is also used after abbreviations in addresses and geographical names (e.g., cty (city), st. (street), ln. (lane), vill. (village), settl. (settlement), s. (selo), r. (river), and other similar abbreviations) before proper names; after abbreviations such as bldg. (building), apt. (apartment), p. (page), sq. (square); and after abbreviations of document sections, such as Ch. (Chapter), Sec. (Section), Art. (Article), Par. (Paragraph), and Item.
- A table is placed in the text after the paragraph in which it is first referenced. It is permissible to place the table on the page following the reference. Tables requiring landscape page orientation shall be placed on a separate page. Large tables may be placed in appendices.
- Table style – a simple grid with lines 0.25 mm wide, black or gray, uniform throughout the document.
- The table title is placed above the table. It may consist of a generic part (the word “Table”), a numbering part (the table’s serial number), and a thematic part (the table’s name). The thematic part of the title is capitalized without a period at the end. The table title is typed in the same font size as the main text. In the table title style settings, single line spacing is set, and the conditions “Keep with next” and “Keep lines together” are applied.
- The header (head) is a mandatory element of the table. Tables without a header are not permitted. Text in the table is typed with single spacing without paragraph indentation. The recommended font size for text in tables is two points smaller than the main text.
Articles formatted in violation of the requirements will not be accepted for publication.
